  She is pretty good with due dates and asks if more time is needed. The 3060 class had a-lot similarity to the 3010 class, which will make you wonder why it's even needed. Past the halfway part of the semester the class basically turned into a html class for some reason. You never really know your grade as she takes very long time to grade.

  I really enjoyed this class. This was the only class where I actually learned something. The professor is really organized with her lectures. I enjoyed the in-class exercises also. She is lenient on due dates which is a plus. Overall a great course. I am taking the professor for another class.

  I liked all the classes I took with her. She is accessible outside of class and helps you with any questions you have. Workload isn't much, one midterm, a final project (can work with one person), a final, quiz after every chapter, and in-class labs. Will often give extensions if the class agrees on it. She has grade view locked, which sucks.

  Professor Balan was one of the most patient instructors I have encountered in my academic career. She is the perfect professor for students that do not have a background in IS due to her patience and light-heartedness. I will be seeking Professor Balan to instruct me in future courses. Excellent Prof.

  The course was taught using SAP Cloud Analytics and Python (some semesters she uses R). Dr. Balan is an expert in her field. She is friendly and will sometimes be overly repetitive when explaining (guess this might be a good thing). Project 35%/Quizes 20%/Weekly Labs & Assignments 45%. She will not start grading until the end of the semester.

  Where shall I start?! Level of organization: 10%! Level of delusional: 100%! Don't expect to receive any grade or feedback during class. The final submission was on May 17th.   Took this class with Professor Balan in Spring 2020. In Spring, the professor had designed the class with a grant. Got to work on interesting data projects. Would have taken more classes with this professor if it were not my last semester.

  A great and knowledgeable professor. Took the time to explain the material on Databases. I really appreciate her help and understanding during this unprecedented situation. The below comment regarding Knox and Marshall is not clear since Knox and Marshall do not teach the same courses as Professor Balan.
